Our Supervision Policy

Supervisee-led Supervision
We believe therapy is an amanah. Supervision is a place to refine your craft with sincerity, precision, and presence — so your work reflects the highest ethical and clinical standards.
We offer various styles of supervisee-led supervision models. We work according to your goals and needs. And if you are not sure, do not worry, we are here for you.
Whether you are looking for help with a particular client or all your clients, one modality in particular or guidance across different modalities, we will sit and figure it out together.

Ihsaan (Excellence with presence)
Therapists serving racialized, immigrant, and faith‑based communities need supervision that understands their clients’ lived realities. To support you in building a trauma-informed, culturally-safe practice, we integrate:
- Cultural humility
- Anti‑oppressive practice
- Identity‑safe reflection
- Narrative and meaning‑making frameworks
- Faith‑aligned conceptualization when relevant
Our goal is to help you become a grounded, confident, ethically aligned therapist who practices with clarity and heart.

Reflective, Relational & Clinically Grounded Growth
Supervision is not just case review — it is a reflective partnership. We explore:
- Case conceptualization
- Ethical dilemmas
- Countertransference
- Documentation & CRPO competencies
- Therapist identity, confidence, and boundaries
- Burnout, compassion fatigue, and imposter syndrome
- Private practice realities
Our supervision approach is rooted in a minimalist, wellness-focused philosophy that balances administrative compliance with deep clinical insight. We provide the necessary documentation and guidance to help you navigate the CRPO’s requirements with confidence.
WHO IS THE SUPERVISION FORSupervision for the next generation of psychotherapists
Registered Psychotherapists - Qualifying
Individuals designated as RP(Q) have completed their graduate-level training and are in the process of fulfilling their requirements for full registration. The Requirement: Mandatory supervision is required for all clinical work until the practitioner passes the Registration Examination and completes the initial hour requirements. The Goal: Accumulating the 450 direct client contact (DCC) hours and 100 supervision hours necessary to transition to full RP status.
Registered Psychotherapists (Working Toward Independent Practice)
Becoming an RP is a significant milestone, but it does not immediately grant the authority to practice independently. The Requirement: RPs must continue to practice under supervision until they have met the CRPO’s "independent practice" threshold. The Goal: Reaching the provincial requirement of 1,000 DCC hours and 150 total clinical supervision hours to remove the "supervised practice" requirement from their certificate of registration.
Graduate Students & Clinical Interns
Students currently enrolled in recognized psychotherapy or counseling programs require a supervisor to oversee their practicum or internship. The Requirement: As part of their academic curriculum, students must be supervised by a qualified professional who can validate their hours and provide feedback on their clinical development. The Goal: Ensuring student interns provide a high standard of care while gaining the foundational experience needed to apply for the RP(Q) designation.
Practitioners Seeking Advanced Consultation
Experienced therapists often seek supervision or peer consultation when moving into new clinical modalities, such as trauma-informed care or specific therapeutic frameworks. The Requirement: While not always mandated by the College for experienced RPs, regular supervision is a hallmark of an ethical and reflective practice, ensuring the practitioner remains aligned with the highest standards of the CCPA and CRPO.
